First Birthday

Hey everyone,
It is so hard to believe, but Avery turned one on Saturday! She woke up on Friday morning sick, and is still that way. :( So she was a good sport for her party and did well considering. She didn't know what to think of her cake, she just stared at it for a long time. Then as soon as she stuck her hand in it everyone went, yah! Then she stopped and looked at everyone like what is going on? So cute. So we had a wonderful party at a local park, where it was nice and shaded. It was a great turnout, around 65-70 people. We had a wonderful time with everyone and thanks to all whom made her day so special. It is so hard not to look back and remember her birth and just how far we have come from that day. She was so little and fragile when she was born, and as she is still very dependent on us now, we can see some independence creeping out. We are looking so forward to more first, like new words, walking, running, hugs and kisses. She has truly been a blessing from God and we are so thankful for every minute we are blessed with her.

11 months/Beach Day

Such a lady when she eats :) JK
Getting used to the water.
The anticipation of the wave coming.
She loved this part.
Trying to steal a cookie from poor Tess. She did end up getting it, but don't worry I didn't let her eat it.
She looks scared or something...maybe it it from my whiteness.
Playing on the blankets.
Tess, I just loved this one.
Maeve, she is so cute.

Today Avery is 11 months old. I can't believe she is already going to be one in just a few short weeks. On Monday we went to the beach, which she has been to before, but she went in the water for the first time. We went with my sister-in-law and her sister and had a great time. Avery was such a trooper during the 50 minute drive. We went to Carpinteria Beach instead of our usual spots and it was well worth the extra few minutes. We will be going back for sure soon. We are getting ready to plan her big day and are having fun doing it. She is sooooo mobile now and destroys everything. Still no walking but she walks all along the furniture. Miss you all.

This weekend we attended a 30th birthday party for my college friend Natalie. We also had a family function at Wes' cousin's house. Avery had a blast both days. She went in the kiddie pool as well as the big pool. Here are just a few of the cute ones we got.

Fourth of July/ 10 months

Avery is 10 months old today! She is crawling everywhere, pulling herself up on everything. She is now waving too. I had to work on the holiday so we just went to a bbq for an hour before I went to work, thus we didn't bring the camera. We did however take a few pics in her fourth of July hat. No fireworks this year, maybe next year I will be off of work and she will be able to stay awake long enough to watch them.

New found freedoms

Pulling herself up on things.
Feeding herself. She has been doing this for a while. We really encourage it because she loves it.
More room to play around in the big tub. She hated the big tub until she was 9 months old. Now she loves it.
Crawling of course.
Since she can crawl she now is a toy stealer. Oh they start so young.

Avery crawling

Avery is 9 1/2 months old and just started to crawl. She is just getting so big and the time has gone by so fast. At her nine month appointment she was 15 pounds 12 ounces and 25 3/4 inches long. She is in the 4th percentile for her weight and 5th for height. She is eating so many new things now and can pull herself up to a stand on some things. We are so blessed! She is just a doll.
