Christmas Eve morning, I just love this face and crazy hair

Well we had a busy Christmas season as usual. For the first time this year we did not attend the Mier (my side) family event. It would have been way too much for her. We started out the week by going to Wes' aunt Heidi's house for the Schmidt side of the family. We had a really nice visit, but not many pics, as Avery was NOT cooperating. Then on Christmas Eve we went and took my mom to breakfast, and had a nice visit with her. On Christmas Eve night we went to the Seal function (Wes' mom's side of the family). We had a great time. Christmas morning we woke up and did a few presents that Avery had. We then went to Wes' dad's house for brunch. Avery then took a nap and then went to Wes' sisters for a nice prime rib dinner. Then it was off to work for me. Wow, I am exhausted just writing it. Avery was ready to be at home for a day after all of that. We had a great time celebrating with family. Oh and for an early Christmas present we were blessed with a healthy new nephew Cooper!!! We can't wait to meet him next month and smoosh his little face. Happy New Year everyone.

She is right on track with all of her milestones and are so grateful to have a healthy little girl.

Her favorite thing- the stairs

Here are just a few of the pics from out annual trip to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving. She did surprisingly well there and just loved staying with my aunt and uncle. She cried for a long time on the way there, but the way back was better. She had a hard time napping, the conditions were not ideal for her, but what else is new. We also took our family Christmas pictures when we were there as well. Enjoy.

Pigtails

So I am getting sick of Avery pulling out her clips or having her hair hang in her face, so I decided to try pigtails. Let me know what you think. Wes thinks they looks silly, but I think they are cute. Also I created a link from my blog so that I can keep track of the new words and things that Avery does from week to week (If you want to check it out). Also these pics aren't great, but it was the best I could get from her today.

The Long Beach Aquarium

The classic aquarium shot

Maybe she will grow up to love sharks just like her mom does
The sea lion swimming behind us
I like this one

Today Avery and I went to the Long Beach Aquarium. A friend of mine invited us to go for free which was really exciting for us. Avery just had the best time. The timing couldn't have been better with her learning to walk, we would have had a hard time if she wasn't. She loved to go off on her own and check out the tanks of fish and sharks. She did cry at the seals though, thus no pics of those. She apparently didn't like the noises they made. Anyways, we wish it was a little closer and cheaper so we could go more, but what a great day it was.
