Wes, Geoff & Tim

So this weekend we went to visit our friends in the Portland area.  We had such a great trip and we blessed o have receive some really cheap tickets.  We flew standby and the way there was easy.  The way back, however ended up being a 10 hour journey.  It all worked out though and we got home safe.  Our friends moved up to the area to start a church plant.   We got to attend a service, as well as visit downtown Portland.  Most of our trip was spent hanging out with our friends who we miss so much.

Avery's first picnic

So precious
Texas playing ball
This is a face that my sister made when she was little.

She looks like such a big girl sitting up.

So for the first time in months I had a full weekend off.  We decided to take a little picnic to the park and let Avery play outside and let the dog run around.  She is doing really well sitting up, but you still have to be there because she falls sometimes.  She is eating more foods now.  So far she has eaten: rice cereal, oatmeal, peas, sweet potatoes, bananas, pears, and applesauce.  She has loved them all except for the peas a couple of times.  The past few days she has eaten them though.  We also, praise God, found a bottle that she likes.   She has been eating like crazy from it.  She is still mostly breastfeeding, but we are needing to supplement her sometimes.  Today she breastfeed and then took 7 ounces on top of it.  It doesn't sound like much, but this is huge for her.  Maybe now she will start to grow more.  :)

So Tiny/ 6 months

Hi everyone.  It is so hard to believe but Avery is now a half a year old!  Wow,  did that really fly by.  We went to her 6 month appointment yest.  She is so tiny, and I mean tiny.  She is the average size of a 3 month old.  She doesn't look that little to us, but she is.  She now weighs 12 pounds 14 ounces and is 23 7/8 inches long.  He tried really hard to at least make her 2 feet, but to no avail.  She is in the 4th percentile for both height and weight.  He is not concerned for now because she is proportional and she doesn't look malnourished.  If she falls off the chart next visit, which she may, he is going to start investigating if there is a reason.  He says it is possible that she could have a thyroid problem, but thinks it is unlikely.  For now we just need to push the feeding, as we always do.  He says she just doesn't need very many calories because she is small, that is why she is not a big eater.  She is not quite sitting up still, but is wanting to.  She is just a blast and a joy to us.
