Avery's first swim in a pool (She kind of liked it)
Me, My dad and his grandkids at the Alamo
Pakki and Avery at the River Walk
Avery playing dress-up
Julien insisted on feeding Avery her bottle, it was so cute

Avery loved my sister's jumpy thing, I just love that smile.
More dress up
I can't figure out how to get this one off, so you get to see it twice.  Oh well, it is so cute.
Jonah also playing dress-up
Julien too!
We just had the best visit in Texas.  Avery took her first swim, we went to the Alamo, River Walk, the park, etc.  I hadn't seen my sister or my nephews for a year and a half, so this visit was long overdue.  We can't wait to go back soon.  She did very well during the traveling.  On the flight there she made friends with the flight attendant and she walked her around the plane to meet the rest of the passengers.  It was really cute.  She got a million complements about how cute she was.  She just loved it.  She was a bit fussy at times due to lack of sleep from the time change, otherwise she was great.  My nephews were sooooo in love with her and would constantly try and entertain her.  She loved them too.  On the trip she got a second tooth and also was practicing her crawling quite a bit (no dog or hardwood in the way).  Anyways, we had a great time, and she was happy to come home and see her daddy.

Avery's first beach day

A little funny of a pic but you gotta love the view
After this she took a face plant in the sand...how sad

Denise and Logan, Bella was at home
Courtney and Ben

Today was my friend from college, Courtney's, birthday.  Four of us from college and our kids met in Manhattan Beach to have a little stroll along the beach and some lunch.  It was the most perfect day outside!  I think it was 75, sunny with a slight breeze.  We all had a great day, despite the hour and a half drive in traffic afterwards.  Gotta love California.

Mother's Day

Today I celebrated my first Mother's Day.  Half of the day was spent sleeping from working the night before.  Avery was supposed to nap, but of course refused (she has been doing this quite frequently the past week).  So we went to the mall to have some Mother's Day dinner.  Last week we won a meal for two to California Pizza Kitchen, so we went there to celebrate the day.  Avery was sooooooo tired so we decided that church was not going to work for her this week, so instead we walked around.  We really needed some time as a family anyway.  We did some shopping and Wes bought me a couple of needed summer outfits, so sweet.  Anyways, I just wanted to share how wonderful it is to be a mom to my adorable, sweet, stubborn, and very busy child.  I now know how important the day is to celebrate.  God is so good.  Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.

8 months

Here we are once again, another month down and only 4 to go until the big 1st birthday.  It seems surreal.  So our big milestones since last month are:  getting her first tooth, eating some people food (rolls when we go out to eat), sitting up without worrying she will fall down, sleeping in her crib at nap time (this was huge and a ton of work, but we did it.), giving kisses, sleeping on her tummy at night, the saddest one- giving up breastfeeding (she weaned herself and it is just so sad).  I am sure there are lots more, but those are just a few.  She is so much fun and everyday she just learns so much.  She is not quite crawling, but maybe by next month.  We were supposed to go to the Dr.'s today, but the appointment got canceled so we think she weighs around 14 pounds or so.  Still so small, but that is what happens when you would rather play than eat.

Avery screaming

Here is a quick video of Avery screaming.  She thinks she is so funny now that she has discovered her voice.  Anyways, we think the screaming is cute for now, but I am sure later it will get old.  Enjoy.
